At the ATHENS DENTAL CENTER, we believe that proper education for parents and teaching oral hygiene helps both parents and children develop habits for clean and healthy teeth from an early age. The health of primary teeth, which are the first teeth a child acquires, is crucial for proper chewing, speech, avoiding painful experiences, and maintaining the health of permanent teeth that will emerge between the ages of 8 and 12.

An appointment with our pediatric dentist includes, depending on the dental needs:

• A detailed oral and dental examination.
• Fluoridation, where fluoride is applied in gel or varnish form to make the teeth more resistant to decay.
• Scaling (cleaning) aimed at removing dental plaque and tartar.
• Placement of preventive sealants, which are applied without drilling and aim to prevent cavities in the chewing surfaces of the back teeth.
